Indie farming RPG Stardew Valley is about to receive a major update that adds new farm buildings, crops, artisan goods, new producing mechanics, and much more. The game’s creator, Eric Barone, has mentioned that a co-op multiplayer mode is also on the way, along with ports for the Mac, Linux, and consoles. Language localization for non-English regions is on the agenda as well.
Inspired by Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley is a farming simulator that sees you rebuilding your grandfather’s farm, which includes raising crops, tending to livestock, mining for ores, interacting with villagers, and using the in-game money to upgrade tools and buildings. Since its debut in February, the game has sold over one million copies, becoming one of the best-selling indie titles of the year.
