| Robert Chambers | If you’ve played risk™ on a board with wooden pieces you’ll immediately recognize this game when it pops up on your mobile. The maps, the moves, the rules are very much as you’ll remember them.
The touch screen aspects are fairly well implemented. Although miniscule in size the commands that appear in the lower corners of the game are very responsive to the touch of a stylus. Something I learned by losing my fortification round my first time through the game. That cost me brazil. I was more careful thereafter to not double tap anything. It’s not required. Game play is brisk and merciless.
As with board based risk there is a chance for frustration with the way the dice roll. This randomness in the attack section has been nicely captured.
The ai opponents are fairly adept at picking up on human errors, I gave them several opportunities and they pounced on each. Cards are awarded as in the board game too.
I did not have a chance to try the pass and play mode.
If you spent some rainy afternoons playing risk this is the perfect substitute if you are now too much on the go to sit down with your chums to put a game together. |

| Antony Briggs | Very classy game. The interface is slick and it feels like its been produced by a quality publisher (ea, in this case). The quick game is very easy to pick up when you have a spare minute or two, and a full game is available either against multiple a. I. S or with another person (via pass and play). The full game is faithful to the original board game, however the risk cards do not work quite the same and I havent worked out how to attack a country with less than three dice yet. |

| Adam Tan | This is an excellent rendition of the board game. One main difference is that the received risk cards do not reflect territories for additional armies. However, game play is very intuitive and it was a very good risk fix for someone like me. The only grouse I have is that the ai are all fixed as one in terms of difficulty setting. And even medium is rather easy, allowing me to conquer the world in about 25 minutes (six rounds). Of course, for someone on relatively short commutes or who is just killing time, this is perfect. But this is definitely a good game for risk fans who loved the game. |
