| Neil Evans | I must start by saying that phil taylor's power darts was a little bit of a gamble buy for me as I thought "just how enjoyable and playable can it be on a phone". The simple answer is "very"! First of all I must say the presentation of the game is excellent. The quirky characters all add to the games attractive look and feel. The menu system is nice and easy to navigate with help along the way if you need it. The game itself splits into the familiar multiplayer or single player mode. The two player version works very well and you can get through journeys on a train or plane with a mate and a beer as if you were down your local pub 'throwing some arrows". The single player mode is essentially a short career mode where you can visit 'the pub' and learn the games with one of the helpful characters who you get to play in competition. I say games plural as there are many party games such as 501 or 301 down, pub golf, round the clock etc, many which are unlockable as you proceed through the various competitions. If you are successful you will eventually come up against the master himself and take him on in the world championships and then unlock the las vegas competition. The opponents obviously get harder as you go but so will your skills. The gameplay is quite tricky at first but once you get the hang of it you will be scoring 180's on a regular basis. I disagree with some comments about the game saying it is too easy and you just get 9 dart finishes all the time. If you can then well done, but the average player will still have to get his/her timing right to beat the better opponents.
All in all I think it is well worth purchasing if you are a hardcore fan of darts or simply like to play a few games at home or in the pub. |
