Get over here!
The Video Game Awards was chock full of new game announcements, and one of those was for the very popular Mortal Kombat franchise. Warner Bros. Interactive and NetherRealm Studios announced that Mortal Kombat 11 will launch for Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch April 23, 2019.
Very little was said about the game, but the announcement trailer showed an intense battle between Raiden and Scorpio, two of the series’ most iconic characters. And, apparently, there will be multiple forms of Scorpio for this latest entry, or perhaps that’s one of the character’s new abilities.
Mortal Kombat 11 will enjoy an upgraded graphics engine, as well as character customization features along the lines of those present in superhero brawler Injustice 2. In that game, you could enhance the strengths of your fighter to fit your playstyle with unlockable gear that was earned through gameplay. It should make for a more engaging game that’ll push all competitors to their highest limits.
