Hi

I have read the other thread about 3's policy for not allowing open internet access, and called them to query it. What they told me is that they offer a service where I would be allowed to download games from your site by activating a subscription service with themselves.

Basically how they said it would work is this: I activate this service with 3, for either £2.50 per month/5 MB or £5.00 per month/15mb (if I remember the figures correctly). Then if I order a game from this site (and I quoted the site address to them to check it) as long as the game is within my limit of 5 or 15MB then I won't be charged the £3.99 for it, as it will be covered by the subscription charge I signed up for with 3.

I got the phone operator to check this to make sure it was correct and it was. It seems odd to me though, if a game was under 5MB then I effectivley wouldn't be paying the full £3.99 for it, and 3 would have to pay that cost for me.

I just wanted to check to see if this service from 3 would work with your site, as it seems a bit suspect to me, and I want to be sure it will be ok before I download any games. Damn them and their idiot policy! Some moron probably gets paid ten times as much as any of us to think up nonsense policies like this one :D

Also, is there anywhere I can find out the size in MB of any game? It was Air Strike 1944 for the Sony Ericsson K800i that I was interested in.

Thanks

Gary

Hi,

I'm sorry but the fact that they will pay us the £3.99 for the game if you sign up to that sounds complete fiction. We have certainly never received any money from Three! I have heard that you can unblock your access for the monthly fee as you say (which is just a complete rip off!!) but not that games are free after that.

Three's policy is just crazy .... "Here, have an internet phone with fast internet access. Oh but by the way, we don't allow you to access the internet"!!!! Mad!

Sorry it's not better news. Hopefully Three customers will simply vote with their feet.

Sooper.
