Reviews for RISK Mobile Phone Game

 Customer  Review of RISK
Zoltan PappAbsolutely recommended! A classic game, it couldn't have been ruined even by ea.
Robert CollinsLoved it!!
Vasilios PappasAmazing so good just like playing it on the pc.
Mario CioffiNice! Didn't give it a ten just because placing and moving large amounts of troups is a bit slow and boring, but this is a very nice version of the table game! The random territory claim is also very usefull to keep the game interesting for a long time. Excellent.
Dylan ImmsGreat game. True to the original board game but thankfully isn't as time consuming. Some of the ui buttons are tiny which makes it diffucult to play without the stylus. All in all, a great game.
Maxine ThompsonGood fun game, I like it.
Robert ChambersIf you’ve played risk™ on a board with wooden pieces you’ll immediately recognize this game when it pops up on your mobile. The maps, the moves, the rules are very much as you’ll remember them. The touch screen aspects are fairly well implemented. Although miniscule in size the commands that appear in the lower corners of the game are very responsive to the touch of a stylus. Something I learned by losing my fortification round my first time through the game. That cost me brazil. I was more careful thereafter to not double tap anything. It’s not required. Game play is brisk and merciless. As with board based risk there is a chance for frustration with the way the dice roll. This randomness in the attack section has been nicely captured. The ai opponents are fairly adept at picking up on human errors, I gave them several opportunities and they pounced on each. Cards are awarded as in the board game too. I did not have a chance to try the pass and play mode. If you spent some rainy afternoons playing risk this is the perfect substitute if you are now too much on the go to sit down with your chums to put a game together.
Stephen Aynsley-smithGood game a bit easy to complete even on hard but one you will go back to time and time again.
Rob WilkinsonGreat game. Even after winning a couple of times there are different settings/techniques to try to ensure the challenge remains. A game to keep on your phone!
Antony BriggsVery classy game. The interface is slick and it feels like its been produced by a quality publisher (ea, in this case). The quick game is very easy to pick up when you have a spare minute or two, and a full game is available either against multiple a. I. S or with another person (via pass and play). The full game is faithful to the original board game, however the risk cards do not work quite the same and I havent worked out how to attack a country with less than three dice yet.
Antonio NicolettiAddicting for those who like these kind of games.
Dylan TuslerVery cool implementation to 5800 that takes full advantage of the big screen and touch input, though you really need to use a stylus for effective play. The only letdown of this game is that the ai is not fantastic on the hard levels. It is pretty easy to finish a whole world game with 5 opponents in 8 turns or less. The game is a pretty fun strategic dice game that can be played over and over again and is slightly different each time. The simple rules make it easy to pick up, and a game can be played very quickly if you just want to fill in some time. This is a very nice 5800 port, well worth adding to your phone.
Gary WhiteNever played risk before, but I am so surprised that I like it that much. The game is a bit stale on music and fx even though you have an option to play sound, my don't seem to at all. If you find yourself with an hour to spare then this is the game for you. Love it, love it, get it.
Christopher BrownSimply brilliant!! If you like risk you will love this.
pw youngExcellent general!
Michael CooperI never played the board game version of this, but I quite enjoy this game. Could use a few more options to extend its playability value, but overall, its good.
Robin ShieldsTakes me back to my childhood. A great phone version of the board game, though playing against the computer is a little too easy for my liking.
Patrick LortieGood game. Could use more difficulty level. Entertaining.
P j HartBrill.
Ian RobertsGood old risk - if you know the board game this is just the same and works really well on the mobile.
Trent CheneyControls are a little buggy. Hard to select countries sometimes, but do-able. Plays like board game.
Eric LacroixWorks fine with several game mode.
Frederick ChaoJust okay, sometimes a bit boring.
Guy PirotskyVery easy to play, even in opponents "hard" mode, I wish the opponent were more brainy.
Thomas SøreideIf you like the board game you will love this. Very fun to take over the world over and over again.
Horváth ZsoltThe game is good, but the programming (choosing attacked region) is not so good.
Sean CooneyA competent and very playable version. Graphics and gameplay are nice and fast. Very enjoyable.
Adam TanThis is an excellent rendition of the board game. One main difference is that the received risk cards do not reflect territories for additional armies. However, game play is very intuitive and it was a very good risk fix for someone like me. The only grouse I have is that the ai are all fixed as one in terms of difficulty setting. And even medium is rather easy, allowing me to conquer the world in about 25 minutes (six rounds). Of course, for someone on relatively short commutes or who is just killing time, this is perfect. But this is definitely a good game for risk fans who loved the game.
Samuel PickardOk, first off i've got a sony ericsson w890i, so your version may be a bit different. I remember long sunday afternoons whiling away the time playing the classic risk board game. It never much fun if you're knocked out early, and you've end up spending the next six hours watching other people play the game, but wonderful if you are still involved. Ea have managed to transfer this game to mobile, which should be quite easy - it doesn't require 3d graphics or complex game rules, and it does seem to be functionally almost all there. Those sunday afternoons are quite a few years ago now, and I seem to remember some things which we did which don't seem to be in this game. You don't get to decide on your opening position; there is no cat-and-mouse game about which targets you want to set. Also, you don't seem to be able to see your risk cards until you are able to play them. There is no excitement or disappointment when you find out which card you've got. Everything else is here though, in a reasonably well packaged game. Conquering continents, and battling to take just one territory to stop your opponent being able to get extra troops. However, it isn't as well packaged as many other ea games. There isn't anything specifically wrong with it, you just get an impression that it could all look a bit better. Some of the controls are fiddly as well. Selecting which country you want to attack can be frustrating, and transferring large armies when you are on the march is time consuming and off putting. The ai isn't up to much either. Medium setting is too cautious - it'll let you build up core areas which are yours for the whole game. Overall, it is a satisfactory version of a simple game, but ultimately it has left me feeling a bit cold about it. You can just flick through your opponents moves which makes the games suitably short for a mobile game, but manages to detract from the magic of the original. This, combined with average presentation makes for a strangely unsatisfactory game, and leaves me waiting for the definitive version of risk on mobile.
