Review
of Puzzle Quest - Warlords
|
| Joanna Lapsley | Puzzle quest is an enjoyable match three game with an added dimension of combat. I have played this on the lg kc910 and on the samsung e530. On the samsung the game play was relatively slow and was lacking in the story element the lg version had. Very suited to a touch screen phone with no numeric keypad as the game is turn based and uses only the directional and soft keys.
All in all a very enjoyable game that has kept me entertained for many an hour and can in my opinion be played time and time again. |
| Iniobong Ubia | I've played this game like a gazillion times. Its just one of those really addictive games. The variety of scenarios and unpredictability of the game keeps it fresh everytime and keeps you wanting more. Excellent game. |
| Joanna Weber | After really enjoying puzzle quest on the pc, I was a little disappointed in this mobile port. For a start, the graphics make it quite hard to see which piece is which, and bafflingly the rpg and story elements are stripped out, leaving only a matching-of-three game.
That said, it's still entertaining enough for me to have returned to it time and again when i've been bored in a queue, but if you're looking for a matching game with a story, i'd recommend my favourite mobile game, diamond twister. |
| Martin Stephenson | Exccellent game. Lots of play time here and it's quite an involved game. If you have this on x-box live arcade, you'll love this version. |
| Hazel Foster | Completely addictive and actually better on my mobile than on the ds. Same idea as the jewel-type puzzles but with a background story and the fact that you play against an ai opponent. I can't put it down!! |
| Marius Cipolla | Very entertaining, lovely graphics and great gameplay. As you progress through the game you pick up "spells" which enable you to use strategy against your many opponents, most of whom have more life than you! Keeps your interest to the end. Once the game is over, you can play any of your opponents in a quick match, which is an excellent feature, making you leave the game on the phone. Well thought-out and great fun! |
| Lim Puay puay | I fall in love with this game!! |
| John Foster | A cut down version of puzzel quest. No buying of buildings, training of mounts or learning of spells. But the core puzzle game is present along with a basic story. They have also changed the game modes so none of them rely on timed challenges (a wise decision when using a mobile phone keyboard). Plenty of hours of play, perfect for my commute. |
| Dwayne Calvi | Must have puzzling action! This game seemlessly combines elements of a puzzle game and a role-playing game into one of the best mobile games available. Inititally I thought the game would simply be another bejeweled or jewel quest rip-off, but the game has far greater depth and replayability than either of the previously mentioned titles. Enjoy! |
| Steven Tate | I bought this game for my girlfriends samsung es50e and she has said that it is one of her favourite mobile games, she has gotten lots of games from this as every one is different. All in all a great game! Thankyou :). |
| Peter Stewart | Very good gameplay. Similar although restricted compared to pc version. Easier to complete than expected, but still very addictive. The number of character choices does at least give varied gameplay. |
| Jacqui Brearley | Excellent game highly addictive. |
| Deborah Mowforth | If you like puzzle games then this is for you... Have not stop playing this yet! |
| Arie Hofland | This is a very nice puzzle game, also brought out on pc. While the pc version had more things to do, you always ended up doing the same kinds of puzzles. While the mobile version also only really has 1 sort of puzzle, because it's mobile it's more to enjoy and less to 'last'. It's very nice to do in the train or on the road where you don't have a pc with you. |
| Adrian Jackson | Puzzle quest has been around for quite a while on a variety of platforms now, from pc through handheld games consoles to ps3 - and now mobile phones.
The premise is simple. It's a fairly standard bejewelled-style puzzler converted to work as a competitive game, with some rpg trappings and some interesting gameplay variations that are worked into a story mode. You alternate taking turns with your opponent, building rows of coloured pieces to charge your powers or rows of skulls to attack your opponent. Longer rows give more benefits, including multipliers and extra turns. Because you know your opponent will have the next turn, you need to plan ahead to ensure that you're making moves that benefit you without setting them up for a strong attack.
The problems with the game in the past have been the random and arbitrary nature of the replacement tiles - it's all too easy for the ai player to end up destroying you completely with a string of lucky drops - and the somewhat unbalanced nature of some of the powers you can get, allowing powers to be chained to give you an almost automatic win.
While the first problem still exists here, the second seems to have been reduced, or at least for the couple of characters i've played with. The abilities are satisfying, but not as ridiculously overpowered as in other versions of the game.
If you like puzzlers, this is an interesting and deeper than normal twist on the genre, and one that has rightly received a lot of critical acclaim. The only downside of having it on your mobile is the sheer amount of time it'll eat up. |
| Diane Bayles | An excellent game that will keep you occupied for hours. The many side games to the main story add to the fun. This game is as much strategy as arcade. Well worth buying. |
| Alex King | Simple game, but extremely addictive. |
| Marc Johnson | After a good few weeks and about 4 hours game time im still only half way through! So much to do and awesome when ya have 5 minutes to spare. |
| Clare Jacobs | This is a great stratergy game. A good twist on the original jewel quest. |
| Donna Johns | A very adictive and fun game to play but the only problem is theres not enough levels so game could be completed in just a few days. |
| Dmytro Prykhodko | Great game! There are four types of player classes to choose from and a good mix of goals to achieve. I finished the game six times now, and it is still enjoyable time waster during commute. |
| Alice Tracey | This game is so much fun that I went out and bought the pc version aswell! |
| Paula O'donnell | Good game very enjoyble and easy to get the hang of. Quite addictive. |
| Caroline Sutherland | Not really played game yet but had initial problems downloading which were dealt with promptly and resolved. |
| Annette John | Great game the only thing is I got to the end rather quickly, so just picked another hero and started again..... |
| Erik Ehrling | Not my cup of tea, not a substitute for bejeweled. |
| Miss h a Mckenzie | Very good game, it's a pitty it was so short in the sense of areas/people to play against. Although the good thing about the game is you can just begin another game unlike some other ones. |
| Kylie Daws | A fun twist to the classic 'match 3 or more in a row' type of games. You battle against an ai taking it in turns to match 3 or more. I've only just started playing this game but had it on my phone for about a month now. My fiancee started playing it and didn't want me to re-start just to carry on his one but I didn't understand the game. He completed it and spent hours hooked onto this game. |
| Gillone | Great game, you get hooked on it. |
| Jack Dawbob | A great game to while away the time, good fun, imaginative game play and and interesting take on an old game.
The only downsides are that it is quite short, and the graphics are a bit clunky. |
| Vicky Page | My favorite game in a long time have completed it a few times but dont care just start another game striaght away absolutly brill. |
| Hay Wills | It was ok could be better. |
| Kevin Saywell | Superb, very addictive. |
| Julie Whitehouse | This game was ok but not the best. |
| Mads Greve | Excellent game, playable again and again. |
| Ronny Anderssen | Great game! It's perfect for mobile gaming, it saves the game automatically when you quit and the controls are so simple that the cell phone interface isn't limiting at all. |
| brianparkes1969 | Not a bad game. Layout a bit hard to see. |
| Irene Mckay | Really good version and quite addictive. |
