Reviews for Orcs and Elves II Mobile Phone Game

Customer  Review of Orcs and Elves II
Mark HodgsonCool first person adventure similar to doom3d. I enjoy these game types coz time isn't important - is turn based so can stop/start (good for public transport) and many different weapons, creatures and puzzles to keep you interested.
Stuart RileyGreat little game. Good mapping function. The sound did not work, but that wasn't a major problem.
Alison SiddallBrilliant just as the first orcs and elves - when is the next one out!
Neil DaviesGood game. Plenty of gameplay.
Adrian JacksonAfter enjoying the first orcs and elves game i'd been looking forward to the sequel for quite some time. The game itself is very similar to the previous title. It's a fantasy-themed first person adventure game, similar in gameplay to a turn-based take on wolfenstein 3d or such early fps titles. The storyline is the usual flimsy fare - you're a thief who has stolen the talking wand from the first game in order to save his village. As far as the gameplay goes it's quite disappointing. The additions to the game mechanics over the first title don't seem to be terribly well thought out. Thieving is frustrating rather than entertaining, as it seems to be arbitrary whether opening a given chest will cause you to be arrested or not. The familiar you acquire is interesting, but very limited in its use outside of a few scripted events. And the city areas you visit throughout the game, while they make for an interesting change of pace, aren't as convenient as the central hub of the original - if you want to revisit earlier areas it'll require a lot of backtracking until the very end of the game. The weapons selection isn't as well thought out as in orcs and elves, either, and you can find yourself growing tired with selecting the appropriate weapon for a given enemy when your arsenal grows beyond a certain size. That's not to say that the game isn't enjoyable, or that there aren't a few features that improve it over its predecessor. It is still good fun to play, with a decent amount of replay value if you plan on finding all the secret areas and buying all the weapons. It's just a disappointment given how much fun doom rpg and orcs and elves were - it feels like this iteration was put together by people who were handed the game engine and told to turn out a sequel, but didn't understand what it was that made the earlier titles *fun*.
David KingThis game is absolutely fantastic, I love it. In each of the realms there are multiple side quests and areas to explore, lots of people to interact with, everything that you'd want from an rpg. The graphics are superb for a mobile game, and it controls very well. The boss fights are hard, however once you learn a few neat tricks they'll be challenging, but doable. Overall, this game is absolutely brilliant, I really can't criticise it at all. It even has a rudimentary storyline that's half decent! A well-deserved 10/10.
Joanna WeberThe most comprehensive, full and deep rpg i've seen for a game, the experience is akin to playing daggerfall or arena on the pc. Combat is fast-paced turn-based - clicking the centre button activates and ends each turn. Its first person perspective is instantly immersive, there's a good choice of weapons, a handy map, and a full inventory system for sorting armour upgrades, potions, and even food for your canine companion! The levels are well-designed, it's difficult but still enjoyable, easy-to-follow, great witty dialogue, and all around excellent. Better than anything else i've played, and better than I really expected was possible in a phone game.
Nikki GreatwoodI loved this game. It's better than the original and it's great to find a game I like to play available for my nokia e90. The only downside was that I manaed to complete it quite quickly, however, it's has several difficulty levels so you can play it over and over.
Jonathan HydeGreat sequal to an excellent game.
Mads GreveLoved it, can't wait for a third.
Mark MitchellOrcs and elves ii is an addictive game and a lot of fun. The gameplay is well thought out and an improvement on o&e i. There are a few nice touches like the mouse you can use for scouting expeditions and the wererat who steals your stuff. Drawbacks : quite simple graphics, unchallenging code breaking, narrative that could be better scripted. However, these can be forgiven by an impressive battle engine, interesting weapons/ items and good level development. Looking forward to o&e iii!
Ville HuuskonenThis is game is great fun. It offers more challenge than the first part of the series. There's also interesting people to meet and quests to accomplish. Graphics are oldish and sounds slow the game too much, but all in all a very nice rpg!
Helen BowmanCouldnt resist this after playing first version, gald I did. Great game play and graphics.
James SkiptonFantastic game, brilliant graphics. I cant fault it. 9/10.
