| Tobias Rowe | Might and magic ii is, without a doubt, an outstanding mobile phone game and fully deserves a 10/10 score.
"nuff said"
However, I will continue to elaborate! To stop there would truly be a crime to the mobile phone game industry.
This game is excellent in every aspect of design; controls, game mechanics, graphics, and sound. I have always been very skeptical of mobile phone games, never even thinking to compare them with the quality of portable and console titles but might and magic ii could heathily compete alongside other action-rpg classics such as the story of thor, alundra, and the legend of zelda series.
Although it could be argued that the story is cliched, it does not degrade the game because it's quality of design outweighs this matter of opinion. The story is also quite deep, increasing the game's longevity and making it worth it's £3.99 price tag, if not more.
Both the game mechanics and combat are detailed and engrossing. An excellent example of this is in chapter three, the "siege of minisdral"---a flawlessly designed level with an extremely convincing atmosphere. A fantastic highlight is when you mount a fire spitting turret and cut down enemy waves.
The item and equipment system also has depth and variety, allowing you to equip the character with different elemental weapons and also separate pieces of armour.
There is no end to the positive points of might and magic ii and no start to the negative points either. If you like action-rpgs and own a mobile phone capable of running this game then you need to buy it. However, if you don't like action-rpgs but own a mobile phone capable of running this game then you also need to buy it!

| Joanna Weber | A good old-fashioned isometric rpg that is surprisingly deep and thoughtful in its design.
There's nothing new here in terms of traditional elves-and-forests fantasy, but its familiar set-up allows you to get straight on with the adventure. All the core elements you'd expect from an rpg are here - you can wander around the village talking to npcs and picking up side-quests, check under bushes for hidden gold, and hopefully level up a few times.
Many of the quests are puzzle-based, so you have to use the same mental skills as you would in, say, tomb raider. There's also plenty of combat, and some lovely touches in terms of casual conversation, too.
Just as you would expect, you can wander into a tavern and rent a room, or chat to the locals, and all in all it's a very well put-together game. Highly recommended. |
