Description of
Tropical Madness 3220
...
You play Furrito, a living fur ball who rolls down the steep slopes of this island infested with enemies and traps of all kinds. Your goal: gather as many stars as you can find along your way in the least amount of time, while making sure that you stay on track and overcome all of the obstacles that stand in your way.
You'll make your way through a 3D isometric environment that recreates three different colorful settings on this tropical island: the jungle, the beach, and the lost Aztec temple. To maneuver through this world, you'll have the choice of three types of controls so that you can move in the most intuitive way. Once you're rolled into a ball, you'll be able to launch yourself into the amazing heights of the forest, the breathtaking waterfalls, the steep rocks of the temple, etc.
Of course, each environment includes its own set of enemies and traps. From the crocodile that you'll have to neutralize with the dash system to the serpent, from the crab to the bat, they'll all attempt to slow you down in your frenzied race to the finish line. But Tropical Madness isn't just about rolling down slopes. Many other challenges lie ahead of you: get around pits by balancing on a creeper or by jumping from one enemy to the next, propel the squirrel from barrel to barrel, avoid fires or spikes...and even an unforgettable chance to surf on the turquoise waters surrounding the deserted island!
A game entirely focused on fun: intuitive controls and ultra-accessible gameplay, perfectly combining skill and adventure with a high-speed twist!
A wacky, likeable character making his way through a colorful, exotic setting: a deserted island waiting to be explored!
9 levels + 2 bonus levels + 1 final boss, in three different locations: tropical forest, beach, and the lost Aztec temple.
Lots of enemies, traps, and bonuses making the race to the finish line even more surprising and thrilling.

Tropical Madness 3220

| Kylie Daws | There’s no ‘help’ with this game, so it’s best to play the tutorial first. I think once you get the hang of the controls (there’s three different types you can have it on) this game is highly addictive, you won’t want to put it down, the music and sounds are good, nothing annoying about them, graphics are excellent too!! |
| Anthony Punshon | Gameloft (in my opinion) can be a bit hit and miss. Sometimes they produce some real disasters (pop: the two thrones anyone?) and other times they get it absolutely spot on.
This is one of those times they?Äôve really hit the nail on the head!
With the isometric view, ball rolling, star collecting action, the best way to describe tropical madness would be to imagine if trailblazer, zaxxon, and sonic the hedgehog all spawned a love child.
The graphics are clean, sharp, and colourful, and the sound is appropriate to the actions. It comes with lots of setup options, such as the option to turn music off while keeping sound effects on, which is a small touch, but a nice one. You can also choose several different key setups to make the game suit your playing style.
There are some niggly points, like the 5 key either attacking your enemy or giving you a turbo boost, which means that if you happen to brush it during the enemies dying animation, you can easily blast yourself unwittingly off the edge of the platform! But the game is so well executed over all that it?Äôs really not that bothersome when it happens every now and then.
The boss battle at the end was even well thought out and not just thrown in there for the sake of another level.
For longevity, there?Äôs 10 levels, plus bonus levels if you get the purple stars, and two difficulty levels, normal and hard. On top of that, there?Äôs a ranking system for each level, so even when you?Äôve completed it on both settings, you?Äôll want to go back and beat your previous score.
They really have thought of everything. This game gets a big thumbs up and let?Äôs hope for a sequel. |
| Chad Taylor | A fun platformer, if a bit of a challenge to play using my razr phone. Get this if you have a phone with very smooth controls. |
