| Lee Rui xiong | If you are a music lover, particularly dance music, this is a must get!
Basically in the game, you mix different types of music (rock, techno, world, dance, pop) and you would be so surprised that they you can get very interesting results. When you have decided the mixes, you have to "merge" them into a single mix by hitting on the right beats. Bring your final mix to the dance floor and create sales!
This game has different stages and I was so addicted to it. After you have completed all the stages, you can still mix all the different types of music you have been given and the game will not erase the mixes you have created.
Except for a few insignificant lags, the game, I must stress again, ts a must get for dance music lovers! |
| Dylan Tusler | I'm not a big fan of the sims franchise, never having played much with any of the titles, and it was pretty much on a whim that I got this title. It turned out to be a pretty good choice.
The gameplay is fun and challenging enough to engage and not so repetitive as to drive you away.
The basic idea is to mix tunes and then play them at various venues in order to get as many people (of the right type) onto the dance floor during your sets.
After mixing a tune there is a simple reflex-based game which determines how big a hit the tune is (which in turn affects whether some dancers will dance to the track.)
During the dance sessions there are a number of special 'moves' that add an element of chance, and give it a more strategic feel than I expected it to have.
Overall i've been pretty impressed, and have only rated it down to 8 because there is not a lot of in-game assistance when getting started (you have to work out a few things by yourself.) also it seems like the character can only develop so far, after a couple of days of irregular play, I seem to have reached some ceilings already.
Finally, this is definately a sound-on game. Don't buy this game to play in the toilets at work (if you know what I mean!) there is really no point playing with the sound off, though it is entirely possible to do so, it would take a lot of the enjoyment out. |
| Kylie Daws | In the sims dj, you create a sim and play to become the top dj in downtown pleasantview. Make your own music by mixing a wide selection of samples in the studio. Lay down your tracks in the mixing game by hitting the beats in tune with the tracks. Travel to the local clubs and rock the house by playing venues. Purchase items in the shop to help you. Watch the sims crowd dance to your best beats on your journey to dj superstardom!
Studio – in the studio, you combine 4 different tracks (bass, drums, fx1 and fx2) to create your own unique songs. Samples come in 6 different genres (pop = pink, rock = red, hip hop = yellow, world = green, dance = purple, techno = blue).
Mixing game – in the mixing game, lay down the tracks you chose in the studio. You’ll be judged on how many notes you hit by the corresponding waveform meter on the right (perfect = platinum, good = gold, poor = vinyl). The better the quality of a recorded track, the more simoleons you’ll make in the venues and the more likely discerning sims will dance for it. Hitting multiple notes in a row will give you a “chain bonus” that raises your waveform bar to platinum level quicker.
Mix library – the mix library is where you store the mixes you’ve recorded and choose mixes to take to the venues.
Venues – in the venues, your goal is to play mixes that match the genres/colour the 4 dancers want to hear (i. E. 2 pop and 2 rock dancers will want to hear a song with 2 red and 2 pink tracks in it). Important information including song name, current dance floor goals, and simoleon intake will appear in your deck’s digital readout. Sims on the left are waiting to dance and will fill in the queue above the deck when other sims leave. Cross fade into new songs to earn extra simoleons – press “ok” when the two cross fade bars are directly over one another to succeed at crossfading. Press up on the directional pad to open your talent/item menu. Activate talents/items by pressing “ok.” venue goals are located in the upper left hand corner and can represent dancers or simoleons. Passing venues will earn you fame and allow you to play better and more difficult clubs. |
