Review of
Need for Speed Undercover 3250 |
| Ivan Chan | I'd played the previous need for speed prostreet mobile and thought it was reasonably good. So naturally, I decided to try undercover out. I managed to download the game into my nokia 5800, which has an elongated hd landscape screen.
Graphics:
Strangely the nokia 5800 version has 2d visuals instead of 3d. The visuals are nice but not great. Maybe because of the large nokia 5800 screen, the cars look pretty small and lacks details. Backgrounds are beautifully drawn but the buildings that flashes by are boring, repetitive. I'd seen much better graphics and details in other racing games like aspalt 4 3d.
Gameplay:
This game isn't difficult to play using the nokia 5800 touchscreen display. You steer by pressing left and right icons located on both lower edges of the screen. Above the left button is brake, and above the right button is drift. At the lower center of the screen is your nitro boost. Frankly, i'd prefer button presses instead touchscreens but the 5800 isn't exactly built for gaming. Another thing to note is that difting in this game is quite a chore. When u press the drift button while negotiating a curve, a small bar appears in the middle of the screen. What you need to do is to balance the cursor in the bar by pressing left or right. You'll drift if you do it correctly but you'll concentrate on the bar so much that you won't notice an obstacle infront and crash into it. I can easily win a race without drifting at all. This makes drifting totally tedious and redundant.
Conclusion:
Undercover is decent at best and gameplay lacks fun and becomes overly repetitive. |
