| Paul Robson | For those of you that spent the majority of your growing up in front of the computer with a note pad containing pages of level codes for this game, welcome brothers (or sisters!) to the revolution!
When I think of the hours, not just me, but the rest of my family devoted to these green haired, suicidal beings, i'm not surprised that this game has ended up on my phone.
A spot on conversion, with most, if not all, the original levels, I think, and no end to the game in sight yet (i can't count the hours i've played so far) you get a huge amount of gameplay for not a lot of money. The only problem with the game is that, as with the original series, you need to get your pointer around the screen quickly and accurately, something that is lacking on the mobile game, which can make playing the tricky or taxing levels fairly interesting (not to mention increasing your blood pressure when you have to restart the level because you just missed turning a lemming into a blocker, or builder before it fell of the cliff!)
Despite the pointer speed this is still a very good game and will last for hours, even longer if like me, you keep replaying levels to see if you can save just one more lemming!
I love it, i'm sure you will too; buy it! |
| Peter Claridge | If you are wondering if lemmings on your mobile can recreate the experience you had on your amiga then fear not - it's a like for like clone of the classic lemmings game. The graphics, music, skills, gameplay etc are all the same.
As usual you have 3 levels of difficulty (fun, tricky and taxing) and there are 28 levels in total.
So often with mobile games they lack the depth of game play that you can complete them after plaing for just a few days (or sometimes hours) on your commute to and from work.
However, with lemmings, i've had it for nearly 3 weeks now and i'm still playing it. Some of the harder levels even took a couple of days to find the solution. The addiction is to go back and complete a level faster or to rescue just one more lemming than last time.
The controls can be a bit fiddly because of the size of the screen and limitations in moving your cursor quickly enough (i have the n73). However you can kind of cheat and keep pausing the game while you assign a skill to an individual lemming.
I would also have liked to see some more levels, but it's game size is one of the restrictions of mobile games.
If you are looking for a game that can keep you entertained for more than 5 minutes then lemmings is well worth the money. |
| Matija Ilic | Wonderfully nostalgic! The lemmings are truly back, and if they are on your phone, you can take them anywhere. |
