Review of
Las Vegas Nights Temptation in the City 1680C
|
| Alexander Burrell | Gameloft are back with the next in their "nights" series of mobile games, and as usual it's better than the one before it. You've still got the same tried and tested interface and gameplay set-up, but this time around there's a new story and different mini-games. You start the game as something of a loser - you've gambled all your money and you're being kicked out of the hotel. But you want to stay longer, so it's your job to make it big in las vegas. Talk to the other characters in the game, work to earn more money, try your hand at gambling in the casinos and possibly even get married. As the story progresses you will come across new characters who will help you become a success, and new mini-games will be unlocked. When the story part of the game is over, you can continue exploring vegas and playing the these mini-games. Most of the mini-games are great, however I felt a little let down by the poker game, as all you have to do is fold or reveal the cards based on whether or not you think the other player is bluffing. The dancing game is a little tricky to play as it gives you a list of numbers in quick succession and then you are expected to repeat them from memory. However, the graphics are great, clear and colourful - the sound and music is lively, and the loading times are very quick. Great game! |
| Etienne Grima | Ehh this is what I call a very good game. It keeps you playing! |
| Chad Taylor | There's one spot where the game keeps locking up on me. I was able to work around it, but i'm worried it'll happen again. Despite that issue, though, gameloft seems to have perfected this type of micro-management sims-lite game. There's a lot to do and a lot of "well, I just take care of this, and then i'll stop playing" moments. |
