Review of
Brain Coach |
| Christian Webb | To owners of dr kawashima's brain training programme on the nintendo ds lite this type of workout for the frontal, temporal and parietal lobes will be quite familiar. Although the graphics are quite basic it is this very simplicity which makes the games appear clean and uncluttered (no bells and whistles here - well ok, maybe a little occasional music). With a variation of ten different puzzles to stimulate these different parts of the brain the routine for the day can be accomplished quite quickly with the results of a running statistical analysis being logged for comparison with your earlier visits. The routines, although they look surprisingly simple, can be quite challenging as they are all against the clock - the faster your correct answer, the higher your score, wherein lies my one small gripe. Due to the fast reaction times necessary to get a good score the physical size of the phone keypad makes inputting information somewhat slower than would be accomplished on the ds. However, this slight disadvantage cannot be levelled at the game so apart from this, and perhaps the wish to see a few more puzzles, brain coach can be wholeheartedly recommended. |
