| Chris Walker | Black hawk down is best known on the pc as a first person shooter which graced peoples screens back in 2003. Now in 2006 the mobile phone version of their team sabre edition is out.
The game allows you to control by us special operations forces through their various missions to the stop terrorists completing their objectives.
The game starts off with you as a gunner on board the famous black hawk helicopter. The mission is to take out the main ground units and support of tanks and jeeps. The helicopter is automatically piloted and circles the playing field. The guns are automatic as well all you need to do is aim. Its a simple premise and is hectic as you try to take everyone out without getting blown up.
The second half of the mission is ground based. Taking control of 3 delta force operatives the missions range from rescuing vip's to destoying installations. The gameplay feels alot like the rainbow six games on the mobile. But this is certainly more tactical as you now control each of the delta force members seperately.
Each member has his own expertise. First off is the assault guy. Plenty of ammo and body armour is your main killer.
Next is mr sniper. Doesnt have a great deal of ammo or amour, but has long distance aim and has satallite ability to view the play area ahead of you.
Finally we have the mechanic who can see and disable mines, heal team mates and call in air-strikes. No weapons but is certainly helpful in many other apects.
Having to control each member individually makes you think more. Do you move your assault guy with the risk of walking over a mine, or should your mechanic go without the ability to shoot.
Completing all the objectives with all your men still alive earns you medals so there is something to play for.
Graphically its on par with the rainbow six series and provides some lovely explosions and animations. Everything is clear and easy to understand.
The sound is a little basic but the music is pretty good.
As one of the more recent releases title this game gives an enjoyable action romp. While not full out action, the tactical element is much better than the rainbow six games but the overall game is still very similar.

| Lareinetammy | I bought this because I watched the film with my boyfriend and liked it. I bought it mainly because me of him, not really expecting it to much good. It surpassed all my expectations. I now spend hours on it... And to my delight even managed to finish all the levels winning all the medals in the process. Thank you for a brilliant time! |
