| Gary Thorpe | Grand national, aintree ultimate is a simple, predictable yet strangely enjoyable game. The premis is simple enough, jump the fences, win the race. The graphics, although not the best, do give you a feel of the speed of horse-racing.
The downsides are the lack of control you have over the progression of your rider/horse, the lack of actual motor controls (no speed control, no way of getting a good start!) and the rahter short life-span of the game- unlike other games from playerone, once you've completed this one I don't think you'll go back and try it again- you have no way of measuring yourself against a bench-mark etc...
In summary, it'll pass the time nicely on the train journey between work, but will get tired quicker due to the lack of additional tracks/races/bits n pieces that could make it more enjoyable. |
