Final fantasy is an absorbing and fun game, that has been well ported to the nokia 5800 platform. It runs without any significant bugs (there is an occasional stutter from multitasking, and i've been playing with music off, but sfx on, and sometimes the sfx do not always play) that have no impact on the playability at all.
If you every played and enjoyed these kinds of games in the 1980s (eg ultima) you will likely be hooked by this game. Sure, it leaves a lot to the imagination, but I found it very compelling. Nonetheless. So far i've played it for over 35 hours, and am near the end of it, but still with some hours to go, I suspect. That sort of playability is missing from many mobile games.
Furthermore, I could imagine that many people would enjoy replaying the game from the beginning with a different set of characters to see how different it could be.
This game is playable, for me, with either stylus or fingertip on the 5800 touchscreen. Very easy to play, intuitive controls, pretty much the perfect mobile game.
To all fans of the final fantasy series of games this brings all the nostalgia and gameplay of the original straight to your mobile.
by far the biggest game availiable for most phones it will use up quite a lot of memory but its worth it. To those uninitiated in the final fantasy series like most rpg's ff uses an experience level system for character advancement using the frequent battles the characters face to improve and learn new spells, gain new weapons and increase funds.
The battle system may be slightly annoying to some, not giving you the opportunity to explore in most locations without having to fight almost constantly, but its true to the orignal snes version. If you've got 80 or so hours to spare, for the money this is excellent value. The replay value is high as there are a few options as to which characters you use, choose wisely at the beginning of the game to avoid frequent restarts!
Overall well worth the money, faithful to the original and many hours of gameplay make this an essential for your mobile.
