Best answer: Unfortunately, it does not. At least, not at launch. Bethesda opted to focus on other features when Sony wouldn’t play ball. Now that Sony has opened up to cross-play, it may arrive in the future.

Why doesn’t Fallout 76 support cross-play?
This isn’t new information, but I’ve heard a lot of discussion and confusion lately surrounding whether or not Fallout 76 at the very least supports cross-play between Xbox One and PC. If you’ve already pre-ordered the game in the hopes that this was the case, you may need to swap your pre-order for another version and make sure you’re on the same platform as your friends.
When this news first came to light in July, Bethesda’s Todd Howard pointed to Sony as the reason for Fallout 76 not featuring cross-play. “You cannot do cross-play in 76,” he said in an interview with GameStar. “We’d really love that but right now we can’t…Sony is not as helpful as everyone would like.”
Will Fallout 76 support cross-play in the future?
Now that Sony is taking a more lax approach to cross-play after being on the receiving end of some harsh criticism, Bethesda’s Pete Hines clarified that cross-play could come to Fallout 76 at some point in the future, but it certainly won’t be ready for launch.
