Midnight Holdem Poker - The fat dog in the Genre |
The poker genre itself is currently bloated, but Gamelofts trademark presentation skills should be enough to help the game elbow itself a good position at the crowded table.
Midnight Hold Em Poker is set in a high-rolling Vegas casino, full of bright lights, pretty girls, and over-the-top glitz. You saddle up to a tournament table and face off with Gamelofts crew of highly-trained cardsharks, betting on all things flops and rivers. The action is punctuated by a commentator that "calls" the plays, just like a football or basketball game. You can also track your progress via a stat system, so you can cull your own strategies from past victories or crushing defeats.
If you want a quicker experience, Midnight Hold Em Poker offers a basic instant play mode. You have the option of either playing against a full table of five or face-to-face against a tough-as-nails competitor.
Judging from these early screens, Midnight Hold Em Poker definitely hails from the Midnight series (the rich, deep blues and purples, the clever characters), all hallmarks of the banner. |

Samsung Introduces SPH-B2300 DMB Handset |
This thing slides, rotates, twists, inverts, flip-flops, and every other descriptive word out there. Actually it only rotates and slides, but it is also capable of receiving satellite DMB programming.
What else does it have? TV-out, video-on-demand, EVDO, IrDA and Pictbridge WiFi printing. This diddy is straight out of Korea and should be available to come December.
Other specs:
This CDMA handset features satellite DMB broadcasting reception, as well as BIFS (Binary Format for Scene) technology, that allows the user to interact with the TV programming. The SPH-B2300 also features a QVGA display, MP3 playback, video-on-demand, TV-output, EV-DO, IrDA, and Pictbridge for mobile printing.
Should be awesome for gaming! |
