| Sam Morris | I was unsure about buying this game as i've played other worms games before and they never really turned out as good as i'd hoped, but I am over the moon with this one! I have bought a number of games from this website in the past for various phones and always liked the a addictivness of the poker games. Worms forts 3d though has awoken me to a new level of addiction. Forget drugs!! This world of completly nuts pink things with eyes is bonkers. I can honestly say that I don't want to play any of my other games anymore.
It took me a little while to master the art of worm devestation but once you've got it, boy you can't put it down. The levels get trickier as you go on and once you've completed them all you get the option to play the levels again from the oppositions side of the worms world (using their land).
I do still buy new games but can't help going back to this game time and time again. I even bought the worms new addition game hoping that it was on the same par if not bette, but it's not as good. It's an ok game but can't come near the playability of worms forts 3d.
How I wish they'd do a new version of this game! More levels would be nice but still I think it's the mutts n*ts! |

I remember the original version of worms on the amiga, loving it and playing it for hours at a time. It moved around, ported from system to system and finally made it - relatively intact - to the mobile platform.
I say relatively because while there is music on the menus, the wonderful little glib remarks from the worms and sounds of explosions is sadly missing from the game. To be honest, this doesn't ruin the game enough to prevent a high score.
The graphics are absolutely fantastic. Considering how small a mobile screen is, the team behind this port have captured the character of the game perfectly. The worms wave and wriggle along nicely, the weapons (those I have seen, i'm only on level 6 yet!) such as the moose and rhino, are animated brilliantly. This is an absolute visual treat.
The reason I gave the game 9 and not 10 is two fold. One is the sound, which I already mentioned. The other may not be the game, but my phone (nokia 6680). Every now and again the screen plays up. It loses the worms and foreground, leaving the cartoony style background, and does absolutely stuff all until I switch my phone off anf back on. As I say, my phone has taken a hell of a lot of abuse (dropped down stairs, etc) so that may be the cause, hence I only docked one mark.
Overall, if you played any of the original versions (which this very closely resembles) and enjoyed them, you will spend hours on this. If youv'e never tried the franchise in the past, there is probably not a better way to try it out. |
